OpenPGP
Encrypted and signed e-mails - 8 minute fast video - in Thunderbird
Watch step by step video!
Video files below are in free open source Theora codec, in Ogg container,
for acceptable quality with small file-size. Playable by most Linux players (i.e. Kaffeine, mplayer, vlc) and probably on other systems as well.
- 0) Install thunderbird-enigmail - on Linux
apt-get install enigmail thunderbird kgpg, on Windows install thunderbird then enigmail plugin (save it then open in thunderbird Plugins) in Windows installing GnuPG may be also needed.
- We recommend strongly to use UNIX-based system (i.e. Linux) or Mac OS X. Because one good troyan on Windows and game over, all security is gone.

- 1) Setup thunderbird. Do not download but first setup e-mail server encryption TSL or SSL if available from your provider. POP and IMAP are supported in Thunderbird.
- 2) Create own KEY PAIR. Good expiration date is 3 to 12 months. Use 8-20 digit complex passphrase (password to the PGP key).
- 3) Send own public key.
limcore_learn_openpgp_fast2.ogg VIDEO 3 MB, 3 minute.
- 4) Get the other person's public key, check&trust it. Remember to double check it! in example by phone call, or better face to face.
- 5) Use signed+encrypted emails :)
- 6) Make it default in config
