LimCore - references & done projects

Unihayat.org is based on a custom framework, with MCV design;
Using PHP, with Smarty templates for views, and MySQL database.
Over 50 own php modules & classes (around 20.000 lines of code),
100 subpages composing main 20 portal features provided by the engine.
At least 2000 man-hours of PHP/SQL development was invested in this project.

The portal has over 12.000 users (in beginning of 2008).

LimCore company was working on this project from mid 2007 till mid 2008, finalized first version, supervised the release of live version, and carried on later upgrades and extensions.

Project (in the released version) was implemented by 2 main developers (Rafał Maj and Mart Raudsepp) for the project Founder, with additional help of other LimCore's sub-developers and contractors.

Most of the PHP development work in implementation and architecture was done by Rafał Maj personally; During time critical for the project (2007.09 - 2007.11) lead-developer Rafał Maj moved to Estonia to support Customer on place.

LimCore help for Unihayat.org project and the portal engine included following work:

• Upgrading older (before LimCore) code base:
  • Creating all design, rewriting all views into well structured XHTML/CSS code using Smarty templates for views (MCV)
  • Rewriting old code into more object-oriented and documented, PHP 5 design
• Security audit of the page (year 2008) and implementing security and protection against known XSS and SQL injection exploits.
• Developing new features like:
  • Creating the main structure for our framework
  • Extending Smarty (View part) as needed
  • E-mail notifications for users
  • Photo album related (including tagging of people in photos)
  • Statistics for investors
  • Admin panel and admin tools
  • Maintaining online server (till year 2008)
  • Documenting existing and new code base
  • Creating advanced debugging and logging tools to deeply monitor logic of page

The portal includes many elements, including also following functions:

• Profiles with connections to friends, wall posting (with deletion), ignore function, summary of user, privacy settings, details visible only for friends (closed profile), requesting and accepting friendship, poking, with number of options including university, faculty/field of study
• Groups and forums - with threads, pictures, invitation, mass-invitation, moderation, notification on changes
• Private messages with inbox / outbox, marking, notifications
• Photos - with photo albums, people tagging, commenting pictures (moderated), notifications
• Advance search basing on various criteria
• Infobox for quick messaging, also with messages only to given group/city/uni/region/gender
• Massmailing for registered users
• Statistics of portal usage
• Various other admin tools
• Security systems
